Beloved
This project explores the idea of love from a personal perspective. I have discovered what my default storytelling motifs are and questioned, why I lean towards the topic of love? How was I taught to love? How do I give and receive love? How has love been rejected and disrespected towards me? This project will explore experiences of familial love, platonic love, romantic love, and self-love.

THE PROCESS
The process for this capstone project was a dozy honestly, but a challenge I rose to the occasion for. I had originally planned to have my capstone project depict a dramatic love story to the discography of 'Pan!c at the Disco.' A portion of this idea came to life onstage during 'Dance Works 2022.' My orginal cast idea in it's entirety was a number of 14-16 dancers, with a gothic, victorian, base and steampunk flare aesthetic. Due to many scheduling conflicts on all parts, this idea came to a close in Feb '23 and the birth of 'Amado' came to be. While it was a stressful and unpredicted process, it was truly one for the books.
